Projects and analysis
Vehicle loads
Every analysis applies a load case to the wheel: a radial (vertical) load and an angular torque. You choose the target vehicle and LoudGears supplies the load case, so you do not have to work out boundary conditions yourself.
Load the vehicle's load case
- On the project page, find Vehicle and load-case source. The source is the Fitment Guide.
- Choose the Make, Model, and Year range (generation).
- Choose Load vehicle loads.
- Review what appears:
| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Load case | The wheel load rating. The default is the guide's Guide target; other ratings the guide offers (for example Extra reserve for track use) can be chosen instead. |
| Radial load | The force on the wheel, in newtons. |
| Angular torque | The moment on the wheel, in newton-metres. |
The page then shows Fitment snapshot saved automatically. The snapshot is bound to your next analysis, and the result page later shows exactly this load case under Applied load case.
Guide engineering basis
Below the loads, Guide engineering basis shows the axle baseline per wheel and the reserve of the selected load. It also lists the guide's validation load cases. The radial and torque cases are part of this analysis; cornering and the combined case are application-specific in the guide and are calculated automatically.
When a vehicle has no load case
If the page says No public load case available, the Fitment Guide has no load case for that vehicle. Choose another matching vehicle, or use a manual override if you have an approved value.
Manual load and torque override
Use Manual load / torque override only when you have an approved engineering value that should replace the Fitment load case, for example from a customer specification.
- Open Manual load / torque override.
- Enter the Wheel load (kg) and Torque (N·m).
- Save the values before you start the analysis. The analysis launcher stays disabled until they are saved.
The result page shows the loads that were actually applied under Applied load case.
Warning An override replaces the vehicle load case completely. A verdict is only valid for the loads that were applied. Record where an override value came from.
Why the launcher may be blocked
If the launcher says to save or re-save a Fitment snapshot, the analysis does not have a bound load case yet. Loading STEP geometry alone does not assign any load. Load the vehicle loads again, or save your manual override.
