Plans and credits

Your plan sets what your workspace can do: how many analyses it can run, how many at once, how many team members and workstations it can have. Analyses are paid for with credits included in the plan.

Plans

PlanFor
Free trialTrying LoudGears: 4 completed analyses over 14 days.
Open BetaWheel businesses only: companies approved for the open beta, by application and invitation code, while the open beta is active.

During the beta, the Free trial and Open Beta are the plans on offer; see the Pricing page.

Credits

A credit pays for one completed, verified engineering evaluation. The credit follows the run:

WhenWhat happens to the credit
You choose Add to FEA queueIt is reserved from your balance.
The run produces a verified result, whether FEA PASSED or FEA FAILEDIt is consumed.
The run stops without a verified result (cancelled, or failed in meshing, solving, or validation)It is released back to your balance.

You pay for the engineering answer, not for workflow problems. A failed mesh, an aborted run, or a service error never consumes a credit.

Revision rate

Re-analysing a design is cheaper than analysing a new one. A run is charged at the lower revision rate when both of these are true:

  1. The same project already has a verified verdict (FEA PASSED or FEA FAILED). Runs that ended in a workflow error do not count.
  2. The new geometry is either identical to the previous revision or changes it only within the allowed geometry-change limit.

Otherwise the run is charged as unique geometry. This is why you should keep revisions of one design in the same project. See Projects and revisions.

Rear-wheel discount

When a file holds a front and a rear wheel, each wheel is its own run. The rear wheel is charged at half price when all of these are true:

  1. The two wheels' outer diameters are within 1.5% of each other.
  2. Both wheels have the same number of spokes.
  3. The front wheel of the pair already has a charged run in the same project.

Half price is rounded up (10 credits become 5, 2 become 1). Otherwise the rear wheel is charged in full. The measurements are signed by your workstation and checked by LoudGears, and the discount appears on the run page and in the Credit ledger.

For revisions, each wheel is compared with the previous run of the same wheel: front with front, rear with rear.

  • Account & billing shows your plan, Credits remaining, the credits for the current period, and totals Added, Consumed, Reserved, and Released.
  • Credit ledger lists every entry with the user, project, geometry, operation, and run it belongs to, so you can match each charge to an analysis.

Change or cancel your plan

In Account & billing, under Available plans, choose Upgrade or Select a plan. Payment is handled by Stripe; your billing records and invoices appear under Billing records after a paid checkout.

To stop a paid plan, choose Cancel current plan. If you are a member rather than the owner, ask your workspace administrator to change the plan.
