ForgeNode
The ForgeNode dashboard
The ForgeNode dashboard is the window you see when you open LoudGears ForgeNode. It shows whether the workstation is ready to run analyses and what to do if it is not. The dashboard is in English.
The status badge
The badge at the top summarises the workstation's state:
| Badge | Meaning | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| SETUP REQUIRED | Numerical dependencies are not installed and the license is not active. | Choose Install / Repair Dependencies. |
| ACTIVATE LICENSE | Dependencies are ready; the workstation is not activated. | Choose Activate License. See Activate and connect. |
| LICENSE CHECK PENDING | ForgeNode is confirming the license with LoudGears. | Wait a moment. Check the internet connection if it persists. |
| DEPENDENCIES REQUIRED | The license is active, but dependencies are missing or damaged. | Choose Install / Repair Dependencies. |
| DEVICE SETUP REQUIRED | The workstation's device identity is not initialised. The detail line says DEVICE ATTESTATION REQUIRED. | Choose Install / Repair Dependencies again. License activation is a separate step. |
| LICENSE ACTIVE / CLOUD READY | Activated and ready; the local analysis services are starting. | Wait for ONLINE. |
| ONLINE | Ready. The local analysis services are running. | Open the Web app and start work. |
| CLOUD DEGRADED | Local services are running, but ForgeNode cannot currently reach LoudGears. | Check the internet connection. New analyses may not start until the connection recovers. |
SYSTEM READINESS
The left-hand list checks the workstation:
- Numerical solver: the numerical libraries (NumPy, SciPy, PARDISO, MKL).
- CUDA / GPU: your NVIDIA GPU, if one is available. Without it, only the CPU route is offered.
- Signed solver release: the verified analysis routes installed with this version.
- Device identity: the workstation's identity, created during dependency setup.
- License activation: whether this workstation is activated for your workspace.
ACTIVE SUBSYSTEMS
The right-hand list shows the local services that make up an analysis, such as the mesher, the load router, and the GPU and CPU 5 mm solvers. You do not need to manage these; they are shown so you and support can see which part is running or stopped.
Buttons
| Button | What it does |
|---|---|
| Install / Repair Dependencies | Installs or repairs the numerical libraries and the device identity. Shown only when needed. |
| Activate License | Opens the activation page in your browser. Shown until the workstation is activated. |
| Open Web App | Opens loudgears.com in your default browser. |
| Explore Demo | Opens the offline copy of the demo. Shown only before activation. See Explore the demo. |
| Stop ForgeNode | Stops all local ForgeNode services. |
Warning Do not choose Stop ForgeNode or close the workstation while an analysis is running. Keep the workstation awake until the run finishes.
Where ForgeNode keeps your data
ForgeNode stores each run's full 3D result fields on the workstation, in %LOCALAPPDATA%\LoudGears\ForgeNode. These files survive updates and uninstalling. The result viewer reads them from here, which is why the full 3D view of a result opens on the workstation that ran it. See Data and security.
