Projects and analysis
Projects and revisions
A project holds one wheel design and its history: every geometry revision, every analysis run, and every result and report. Create one project per wheel design, or per customer order.
Create a project
- In Workspace, choose New Project.
- Enter a Project name. Add a Customer reference (for example an order number) if it helps you find the project later.
- Choose Create & continue.
LoudGears generates a unique project code. The form does not ask for geometry: you attach the STEP file on the project page when you start the first analysis.
Find a project
The Workspace view lists your active projects.
- Search: type any part of a project name, code, or customer reference.
- Sort: Recently Updated, Most Revisions, ID Number, or Highest Peak Stress.
- View: switch between the list view and the card view.
Each project shows the status of its newest run, for example Awaiting first run or that run's FEA verdict. Archived projects in the filter bar, with the number of archived projects, opens the archive. Choose Inspect to see the latest run, or Open project to go to the project page.
The project page
| Area | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Current design revision | The geometry and result of the most recent analysis. |
| Design revisions | Every revision in order (Initial Run, Revision 01, Revision 02, …), each marked Current or History with its verdict. A revision that ForgeNode is still preparing is already listed. |
| Vehicle and load-case source | The vehicle and load case for the next analysis. See Vehicle loads. |
| Choose analysis speed | The analysis launcher. See Run an analysis. |
| Run history | Past runs of this project, including runs that stopped with an error. |
Analyse a design change
When the design changes, go to the project and choose New analysis / revision, then attach the new CAD file. The new run becomes the Current revision; earlier revisions and their results stay available under Design revisions.
Keeping revisions of one design in the same project also matters for cost: a qualifying revision of a design that already has a verdict can be charged at a lower revision rate. See Plans and credits.
Archive, restore, and delete
| Action | Effect | Undo? |
|---|---|---|
| Archive | Moves the project to Workspace archive. Runs, results, and reports are kept. | Yes: open the archive and choose Restore. |
| Delete revision | Removes that revision with its saved FEA result and reports. Billing and credit records are kept. | No. |
| Delete (project) | Permanently removes the project with all its revisions, runs, results, reports, and geometry artifacts. Billing records and an audit record are kept. | No. |
You can archive or delete one project from its page, or select several in the Workspace list and use Archive Selected or Delete.
Warning Deleting is permanent. Archive a project instead if you might need its results or reports again.
